Charles Davis – flute / composition, Sven Götz – guitar / composition, Steffen Hollenweger – double bass
The trio centered around the Australian flutist has existed for over 15 years, has released two albums and plays chamber music-oriented, acoustic jazz. It spans, however, a wide array of genres, from Arabic music and Eastern European folklore to contemporary jazz. The trio’s performances exude a quiet intensity. Everything is transparent and clear, devoid of superfluous attitudes, making it easy to follow the individual character of each instrument and the interactions between the musicians. Precisely these characteristics represent the ensemble’s name, “captured moments”.
Captured Moments has played at the following festivals, among others: Leverkusen Jazz Days, Worms Jazz Festival, Saalfeld Jazz Days, Jazz Festival Idstein, Jazz Festival Gmünd/A, Jazz Festival Seeon, Kulturtage Baienfurt, International Jazz Festival Bad Wimpfen, Kulturtage Würzburg, Soirée in the Castle Solitude Stuttgart, Black Forest Music Festival.
Jazzpodium writes about the Captured Moments CD “Nexxt”: “On their musical journey, the trio “Charles Davis & Captured Moments” not only roam continents from Europe, Arabia and India to China, but also through time, from baroque to rock.”
